getting bankrolled

A friend of mine that i play poker with and has a decent job and plays alot told me that he thinks im pretty good and could win some tournaments. I thought that was a nice complement i usually only play cash games but i know the difference styles. I play all different types of poker but the tourneys would be hold em only. I dont have enought cash to play in tourneys because of my school loans. but he said he would bankroll me and if i win we just split it 50-50. Is that a good Idea? or would i be a fool to take it or not take it?

If its the only way u can play its fine. But once u get a bankroll going u need to cut his share. No way the backer should get 50% unless its the only way u can enter.

I had a banker at one point. taking 50 of winnings is alot. should never be over 30.

I wish I had someone like that. I'd play full time if I had a backer. I'd give him 50% as well. I have tournament results as well. I cashed 3 out of my last 3 WSOP tournaments consecutively.

50/50 is a great deal for any player. The banker should get that down in writing. Wouldn't want another Jamie Gold situation of trying to collect.

yes as grem said ;always get a written contract even if on knapkin it's legal and binding .you have read of horror stories when there was no contract written and signed ......... umm thrown out of every court in america buh bye

I think 50/50 is the best deal for all players. I also want to play like you because the situation of mine as same as you. But I am newbie to poker and getting familiar with leak buster. For that after few days i think i will be able to play like you.

What is the makeup agreement? If it's 50/50 with no makeup clause, that's a great deal for you.
